According to results of calculations of Anti-Crisis Efficiency Index Russia for the first time in recent months has turned up to be better than Kazakhstan and Ukraine. Recent data of national statistic services allowed audit and consulting company, FBK to calculate figures of the Index for August 2009, reported the press-centre of FBK.

If the last position of Ukraine in the rating has already become traditional, shift of Russia one line up was a pleasant surprise. According to Igor Nikolaev, Director of the Strategic Analysis Department such castling was caused by a number of factors: “Negative dynamics of retail turnover strengthened in Kazakhstan. This showing in August 2009 was minus 17,8%  comparing with similar period of previous year (in July 2009 it was minus 17,2%). Russia can not boast of positive dynamics. But, however, its showing is minus 9,8%  (in July it was 8,3%) – considerably better than Kazakhstani”. Igor Nikolaev also noted that a relatively high share of sales in GDP is (about 18%). “This is why even a small growth of industrial production did not help Kazakhstan: in August it was 2.3% comparing with the last year (in Russia – minus 12.3%)”, the expert emphasized.

Interesting changes happened in a number of advanced countries. France and Canada swop their places: now Canada is in the second rating position, France is in the fifth. “Downturn of France’s position is caused, first of all, by relatively unfavorable dynamics of its gold and exchange currency reserves. While in Canada this indicator was 26% higher than the showing of 2008, in France it was only 4,8% higher. Besides, in August the highest price rise among source nations was registered in France: 4,3%. In Canada, vice versa, prices of producers of industrial production kept on falling: by 6,7% comparing to August 2008”, Igor Nikolaev stated. However, according to him, in crisis situation, there is certain positive in rise of producers’ prices. “Still methodology of calculation of ant-crisis efficiency proceeds from rapid price rise considered to be bad”, the expert summed up.
