OREANDA-NEWS. November 23, 2009. Olesya Teplouhova, Director of SME Lending Department of RBD took part in a business dinner with Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. The dinner was organized as part of VIII National Conference “The Role of Microfinance in Overcoming the Financial and Economic Crisis”, reported the press-centre of RBD.

During the meeting Muhammad Yunus exchanged his experience in the micro-finance area including the Grameen Bank which he had founded. Professor Yunus spoke about the applied micro-finance techniques and procedures.

The Russian Bank for Development that is implementing the SME Lending Support Program regards micro-financing as one of the priority business areas. Currently within the framework of this business RBD already cooperates with inter alia such micro-finance organizations as the Russian Micro-Finance Center and the Center of Micro-Financing.
