OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2009. Vilnius International Airport (VIA) has disposed of one of its activities which is cleaning of premises and territory, and entrusted it to private companies, reported the press-centre of Vilnius International Airport.

According to the General Manager of VIA, Tomas Vaisvila, transferring of the cleaning services to the market, shall allow saving the company‘s costs noticeably.

„This year, cleaning costs amounted to 2.2 million Litas, and after selling this service to the market, the costs decreased by 3 times;  consequentially, next year we will spend only 700.000 Litas for the cleaning“, the Manager of VIA says.

20 companies had applied for the tender that lasted for two months. Two companies have won the tender of cleaning the territory and premises; the private limited liability company „Stebule“ shall clean the territory, and the private limited liability company „VIPP sprendimai“ shall provide services of cleaning premises.

„We have received requests from several companies to specify the material of the tender, and to achieve full transparency without any discrimination, we took all remarks of participants into consideration“, T.Vaisvila declares.

According to him, optimizing the activity of the airport and refusing more activities, unrepresentative of airports, quite a considerable amount of costs shall be saved.
