OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2009. It was declared by the vice-assistant to U.S. State secretary Dan Russel during the meeting with the prime minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat. He has noted that "Millenium Challenge" corporation plans to provide the government of Moldova with the grant amounting to US262 million for the development of road infrastructure and irrigation in agriculture.

About US 50 million will be allocated within the frames of bilateral assistance programs. Dan Russel has also told also that the USA will support Moldova in finding viable solution of the Transnistrian conflict.

He has congratulated Vladimir Filat on the successes reached by the ruling “Alliance for European integration" and declared that this coalition is a good example of successful democracy. During the meeting the parties have also discussed the sociopolitical situation in Moldova and issues of forthcoming visit of the prime minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat to USA planned for January, 2010.
