Pekka Heykkilya, the executive director of "MIR Services" company from Finland, introduced this system at the seminar "Theatre and internet: what is good and what is bad?" conducted at "Lenexpo" on November 11, 2009 in the framework of "Art. Theatre. Museum" exhibition.

Mr.Heykkilya was talking about the new theatre management technologies and marketing tools: e.g. distribution of tickets with the help of internet and mobile phones.

Pekka Heykkilya is convinced that by the year 2013 around 400 million people all over the world will buy transport and entertainment tickets through their cell-phones.

"MIR Sevices" has developed a unique system which provides mobile advertising and lets you buy tickets and book services through your cell-phone. The system is called AXR, the letters combination can be decoded as "any sales".

The system has been developed since 2001. It has recently been put into operation. The program is universal and can be used 24 hours a day. Services pack also contains a visual tour around any theatre or concert hall where you can actually see room and stage, and choose the place you want to sit at. 

The customer (theatre, stadium and etc) is to pay for the service ever time when somebody buys the ticket through this system.

The procedure is quite simple: a person books the tickets through his cell-phone and pays for it by credit card or on-line banking. Mr.Heykkilya considers there is also a possibility to develop a special payment system. When the ticket is paid for, the person gets a message with a pin-code, internet link and other essential information. Such virtual ticket can be printed our or scanned right at the place, like we scan pre-paid transport cards.

The system has already been tested with tickets to the rock-concerts and football games. It can sell 56 thousand tickets an hour without any queues and problems.

Pekka Heykkilya believes such electronic systems quickly repay themselves and are way more efficient than ordinary tickets distribution and delivery procedures.

AXR lets enlarge the list of offered services. Now you may book a table in the cafй or restaurant, make an order in the theater buffet and enjoy your meal during the interval.

Judging by the great interest to the introduced program during the seminar in "Lenexpo", this system will definitely find its customers in Russia.
