Aeroflot Nord Strategy Unveiled
OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2009. The Board of Directors of CJSC Aeroflot Nord has considered the company’s roadmap for 2010 – 2013. The priorities were defined as the development of domestic and international carriage using regional type aircraft; further cooperation with Aeroflot on the routes from Sheremetyevo airport in 2010, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.
The meeting of the company’s stockholders has decided to change the Aeroflot-Nord company name. The company was given a new name – CJSC Nordavia Regional Airlines. In view of the renaming decision made at a general meeting of stockholders on October 23 2009, the Board has considered the company brand visualization.
Changing the subsidiaries’ names is a part of Aeroflot Group development strategy. Given the current trends on the air transportation market both in Russia and globally, and the necessity to more distinctively position the Aeroflot brand as a premium service company, a decision has been made to develop the subsidiaries further as independent brands. Aeroflot subsidiaries will operate in the segments which differ from that of the parent company, and use the advantages of the regional base.
The renaming will not result in the parent company lowering its requirements to service quality and flight safety, which are determined by Aeroflot’s standards.
First deputy CEO of JSC Aeroflot Vladimir Antonov was elected Chairman of CJSC Aeroflot-Nord Board of Directors.
As was announced earlier, on September 25 Aeroflot-Don changed its name for DONAVIA.
