OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2009. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the reduction in number of tourists was registered in all types of collective tourist accommodation structures.

Thus, the number of tourists, accommodated in hotels and motels in January-September 2009, totaled 65.7 thousand, or 18.5% less over the same period of 2008; in tourist and agro-tourism boards - 9 3 thousand people (-7%), hostels for visitors - 8,3 thousand (-36.1%), health structures - 22,2 thousand (-15.4%), summer camps - 60,8 thousand (-14.9%), tourist villas and other rest structures - 23,4 thousand (-11.9%).

The current capacity of the collective tourist accommodation structures in the corresponding period amounted to 3,109.7 thousand of people per day increasing by 1,5% as compared to the same period of the last year. The share of the summer camps accounts for 32% of the total operating capacity of the collective tourist accommodation structures, hotels and motels - 26,8%, health structures - 15,9%, tourist villas and other rest structures -14%, tourist and agro-tourism hotels - 6,4 %, dormitories for visitors - 4,9%.

In general, the number of the foreign tourists accommodated in the collective tourist accommodation structures in Russia accounted for 12,3%, Ukraine - 12,1%, Romania - 11,2%, Italy - 6,6%, USA - 6,5%, Germany - 5,2%, Turkey - 5,1%, UK - 3,3%, France - 3,2%, Poland - 2,8%, Bulgaria - 2,8% and Sweden - 2,6%. In January-September 2009, 1200.4 thousand of the nights spent, or 17,7% less than at the same period of the last year, were registered in Moldova.

The share of the nights spent by the Moldovan citizens amounted to 90,9% of the total number of nights spent in the collective tourist accommodation structures.
