I.T.Co. Explains How and Why Licenses Should Be Managed
OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2009. I.T.Co. has taken an active part in the Microsoft's Platform 2010 conference, a traditional venue of IT professionals, managers, and system architects as well as software developers. I.T. became the silver sponsor of this event and presented its own solution, the license management system, based on the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager platform.
Platform 2010 is the 11th conference in this cycle. This time, the International Trade Center was chosen as the conference venue, where over 1,500 visitors gathered. This year, participants in the conference could see new products and technologies developed by Microsoft, such as MS Windows 7, MS Office 2010, MS Exchange Server 2010, MS SharePoint Server 2010, and others.
I.T. exhibited its license management system, demonstrating the advantages of the solution. In particular, the visitors were able to appreciate the huge capabilities the system provides for inventory taking and accounting of the software created by different developers, and to see numerous reports generated by the solution. When demonstrating the system, I.T. experts gave the audience recommendations on the optimum organization of the software assets management (SAM), depending on the enterprise in question.
Evgeniy Vorobyev, I.T.'sMicrosoftsoftwaresalesmanager, “I have a feeling that, this year, the Platform has been even more business-like than before. The main difference in the visitor contingent is that the majority was idea men at their companies, technically educated, looking for off-the-shelf solutions for the tasks they are facing. For example, an issue of great importance for many companies is lowering software related expenses, which account for a substantial share of any company's budget. This, I believe, explains the fact that there were practically no standstills at our exhibit rack during the two days of the exhibition. On the contrary, the work was extremely active, with non-stop demonstrations, consultations, working meetings, talks. Now that the event is over, we can say with confidence that it has been a great success. Within such a seemingly short term, we have achieved great results, such as making new contacts and business appointments, and simply demonstrating our solution to the potential customers.”
