Ashgabat Opened Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2009 Exhibition
OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2009. The capital of Turkmenistan attracts attention of oil and gas businessmen from all over the world. The 14th International Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2009” traditionally organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan has opened at the Exhibition Centre today.
The prestigious international exhibition, which attracts more foreign participants with every passing year, provides a unique opportunity to learn about the impressive achievements of Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector as well as demonstrate the profound potential and vast opportunities of cooperation with Turkmen partners in this priority sector of the national economy.
The versatile exposition arranged at the largest exhibition centre in the region includes the exposition of the state enterprises and companies specializing in various fields – hydrocarbon exploration and production, oil and gas field development, procurement of drilling equipment and technologies from the leading manufacturers, oil and gas transportation, storage and processing, etc.
Over 160 foreign companies from 28 countries including the United States, the European Union and the CIS, China, Japan, Turkey participate in the forum this year. The ‘newcomers’, who have the intention to establish full-scale cooperation on the Turkmen fuel and energy market, are represented at the Ashgabat forum along with the traditional partners, who have been successfully cooperating with Turkmenistan for many years.
The special seminar on various aspects the national oil and gas legislation and taxation will be organized at the President Hotel mainly for new potential partners of Turkmenistan. The Turkmen specialists and international experts made presentations on the specificity and advantages of the investment climate, the vast opportunities and various forms of mutually beneficial international partnerships provided by the national legislation to foreign companies.
The seminar will be the prologue to the 14th International Scientific Conference “Development of Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan and International Cooperation in the Epoch of New Revival”, which will be conducted at the Exhibition Palace on November 18.
The largest forum, which is co-organizers are the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan, the State Agency for Hydrocarbon Resources Management and Use under the President of Turkmenistan and the British Summit Trade Events Ltd. has brought together over 400 participants this year. The representatives of more than 160 oil and gas companies and organisations from over 40 countries worldwide arrived in Ashgabat. The high level of organisation will ensure the participation of the delegations of the UN, the European Commission, the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Norway, Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Afghanistan, India, Iran, UAE, Japan and others.
The conference is expected to initiate an active and serious dialogue about the potential and ways of mutually advantageous cooperation on exploration and development of deposits, extraction, processing and transit of energy. The high-ranking officials of the fuel and energy ministries and departments of Turkmenistan will make presentations on Turkmenistan’s energy strategy in the epoch of New Revival for foreign guests and the broad overview of the ongoing and future projects in oil and gas and chemical industries.
In turn, the specialists of the foreign companies will share their experience in operation on the Turkmen fuel and energy market, make presentations on new industrial technologies and put forward the proposals on new investment projects, which will undoubtedly contribute to further strengthening and expanding international oil and gas partnership.
