During the opening ceremony it was noted that large-scale reforms implemented in the country, under the leadership of President Islam Karimov, in all sectors of the economy, particularly in the construction and pharmaceutical sectors have produced notable results. Favorable investment environment, conducive to the further expansion of trade and economic cooperation with foreign countries, attraction and development of modern technology, integration into the global economy was created.

The exhibition "ExpoConstruction Uzbekistan 2009” presented products and services from dozens of firms and companies from almost twenty countries, such as Uzbekistan, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, Belarus, and Turkey.

Varieties of products are demonstrated at the exhibition of construction materials and services. Building materials and equipment, road-building equipment, heating and ventilation systems, windows and doors, paint and varnish products, roofing and finishing materials, ceramics, electronics and lighting equipment attracted great interest.

It should be noted that our country pays special attention to increasing volumes of production of export-oriented and competitive pharmaceutical products, fully satisfying the needs of people in pharmaceuticals and medical products. An important guide to action in this direction is the decree of the Head of State “On the Program of modernization, technical and technological rearmament of enterprises of the pharmaceutical industry for the period till 2011” from November 19, 2007.

There is a growing demand for pharmaceutical products manufactured in Uzbekistan from the domestic and foreign markets, which indicates the gradual development of the industry. Currently there are over a hundred companies producing medicines.

The exhibition "PharmExpo Uzbekistan 2009”, included all areas of modern pharmaceutical industry, there are also pharmaceutical machinery and technology, industrial equipment, mineral supplements, vitamins and medicines presented at the exhibition.
