Net Loss of Sakhalin Shipping Company Amounts to RUR 63.76 mln
OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2009. Net loss of Sakhalin Shipping Company OJSC (Sakh MP OJSC) amounted to RUR63.755 mln under Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) within 9 months, 2009 against the profit of RUR137.686 mln in 2008. Accounting reporting data of the enterprise witnessed on the matter. Company’s income decreased by 15% (to RUR1 bln 520.462 mln) in January-September, 2009 as compared to the corresponding period of 2008.
Reduction of cargo shipment and level of costs were among the main factors that significantly influenced the amount of income of the main business within the 9-month period 2009.
Sakhalin Shipping Company is the only company providing year-round shipment ex ports of De-Kastri, Vanino and Soviet Gavan. The company’s fleet comprises 21 vessels (excluding ice-breakers, tow-boats and other units of support fleet), all of them belong to ice-class and fly the RF flag. The shipping company provides services to a railway-ferry crossing between Sakhalin and (Holmsk port) and the land (Vanino port). The state is the main shareholder of Sakhalin Shipping Company OJSC (25.5% shares). The rest shareholders are 4,000 legal and physical bodies.
