DemirBank Awarded Diploma in “Banking Services” Nomination
OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2009. DemirBank was awarded an Honorary Diploma in the “Money-Credit and Banking Services“ category at the ceremony of 5 year anniversary of State Program for Socio-Economic Development of Regions, reported the press-centre of DemirBank.
The Diploma was awarded by “Genjler Merkezi” Public Association, which organized the ceremony for 5 year anniversary of the State Program with participation of various organizations and members of parliament.
“Awarding of DemirBank with the Diploma was the result of the Bank’s 20 year efforts, its participation in socio-economic development of the regions, broad regional branch network, wide selection of banking services in the regions, loans to entrepreneurs, open access of population and companies to banking services and financial resources in the regions’ – noted Yusif Jabbarov, deputy chairman of the Management Board.
DemirBank’s branch network consists of 29 branches, of which 16 are located in various regions of the country – Ganja, Sumgait, Sheki, Zagatala, Yevlakh, Barda, Gazakh, Guba, Gusar, Geychay, Agdash, Shemakha, Lenkoran, Masalli, Sabirabad and Imishli. DemirBank is one of the leading bank’s in the country for its geographical scope of branch network.
One of the first banks of Azerbaijan, DemirBank (formerly called Azerdemiryolbank) started its operations 20 years ago in October 1989. Shareholders of the Banks include large international financial institutions, such as European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO).
