OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2009. SPACE.KZ, Kazakhstan primary Internet provider connected to the National Internet Traffic Exchange Center. Mr.Victor Pokussov, Director General for SPACE.KZ Company thinks that this will allow unloading external Internet channels and improve quality of services provided, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

The National Internet Traffic Exchange Center, the first in the Republic of Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan Traffic Exchange) functions in Almaty since October 2007. The National Internet Traffic Exchange Center was established for realization of instructions of the Head of state and the Government on future development of local Internet services market. Legal entity in organizational and legal form of association has been created for center activity management.

The center allows local Internet providers exchanging Kazakhstan traffic not using international Internet channels by common for all rules and terms of connecting pursuant to the standard peering agreements.

At present, peering interaction between eight telecoms operators such as Kazakhtelecom JSC, Nursat JSC, Intelsoft LLC, Astel JSC, Basis Telecom LLC, Modern Telecommunication systems LLC, OBIT-Telecommunications LLC and SPACE.KZ is carried out within the center. Internet traffic exchange speed reaches 60 megabit/sec.

- All participants of peering center are interested in such interaction as external Internet channels are unloaded and data transfer delay inside the Kazakhstan is decreased, - Mr.Erlen Akhmetov, Director for Internet Traffic Exchange Association thinks. – Thus, traffic prime cost is reduced and this allows telecoms operators building their tariff policy for end users with an accent to decreasing.

Let remind that a decision to cancel admission fee for operators willing to join the center has been adopted in 2008. Besides, at the expense of optimization of work of the center, monthly membership fee for participants has been gradually reduced.

- Connection to the National Internet Traffic Exchange Center will allow speeding up access to local resources and unload international communication lines, also improve the quality of services provided, - says Mr.Victor Pokussov, Director General for SPACE.KZ. – I hope for further development of peering agreements and securing max network coherence of Kazakhstan providers and organization of effective traffic exchange between them by shortest routes.
