OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2009. The Gazprom Headquarters hosted the second meeting of the Steering Committee responsible for monitoring the execution of the Agreement on the general principles of geological survey at oil and gas prospects in the Republic of Tajikistan signed by Gazprom and the Tajik Government on June 10, 2008. The meeting was chaired by Valery Golubev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.

Taking part in the meeting were Vasily Podyuk, Member of the Management Committee – Head of the Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production Department of Gazprom, Zarobiddin Fayzulloyev, Tajik Deputy Energy and Industry Minister, Azim Ibrohim, Head of the General Directorate for Geology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The meeting summarized the preliminary operating highlights for 2009. It was pointed out that during the current year 3D seismic survey had been carried out at the Sarykamysh prospect for the first time ever in Tajikistan.

In 2010 3D seismic survey is projected for the Sargazon, Rengan and Zapadny Shaambary prospects. In addition, drilling of the first prospecting well in the Sarykamysh prospect will be launched in July-August, while the second well in the Sargazon prospect – in late 2010.
