OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2009. The twentieth anniversary exhibition of information technologies SOFTOOL which is the largest national exhibition in the field of IT was held in Moscow in the All-Russia Exhibition Center. This year it was devoted to issues of the electronic state development. Except for the hardware and software engineering companies, Republic of Karelia was invited to participate in the exhibition among the 7 regions of Russia where IT is successfully applied at formation of the electronic government.

Karelia has prepared its stand covering following directions: basic stages of informatization in Karelia, information technologies in the government, in the sphere of education and culture, in public health services, in development of business. The system of official information electronic resources of the republic including the Republic of Karelia state government bodies's official web portal The Official Karelia, portal of government services and other resources showing openness of the authority and electronic communication with the population and business was presented in the exposition of the republic.

Within the scope of the exhibition there has been held the All-Russian conference Electronic State of the XXI Century and session of the Council of Chief Developers of Informatization of regions of the Russian Federation where it was mentioned, that Karelia closer than others has approached to use of IT in economy. At the exhibition there also have been shown virtual tous on Kizhi State Open-Air Museum of History, Architecture and Ethnography and Museum of Fine Arts of Karelia. The brisk interest has caused the system approach to information of libraries of the republic, implemented on the basis of Foliant corporate automated information library system.

Karelia's exposition has caused great interest and was a success among the visitors.
