OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2009. These data, published by ANRE, do not include information on the Transnistrian region. According to ANRE, the gas consumption in the country over the same period has decreased by 10,6% amounting to 679.07 million cubic meters. ANRE specialists explain this by the decline in the gas consumption by the energy sector and other economic agents from Moldova.

Thus, the volume of gas consumption by the energy sector for 9 months of 2009 has declined as compared to the same period of 2008 by 8,3% amounting to 292.12 million cubic meters and by other economic agents- by 27,1% - up to 145.37 million cubic meters.

In January-September, 2009, Moldavian population has consumed about 211.19 million cubic meters of the natural gas, or 1,4% less, as compared with 9 months of 2008 while the consumption of budgetary institutions has increased by 12,1% amounting to 30.38 million cubic meters.

According to ANRE, as in the previous years, the largest amount of gas-43% was consumed by the energy sector of Moldova. The share of other economic agents amounted to 21,4%, household consumers - 31,1% and budgetary institutions - 4,5%, respectively.
