OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2009. The Global Forum on Fighting Corruption took place on 7-8 November, 2009 in Doha (Qatar) to consolidate efforts of governments, lawmaking and executing authorities, businesses, media and civil society to fight corruption worldwide.

The forum, which was organised by the Government of Qatar with the support and participation of the United Nations, was attended by delegates from 190 countries including representatives of businesses, governments, public organizations and the leading media.

They discussed concrete ways to consolidate efforts of authorities, businesses and civil society to work together to fight corruption.

The Global Forum on Fighting Corruption took place in the lead-up to the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) which is taking place in Doha from 9-13 November. All conclusions and recommendations made by the delegates of the Global Forum on Fighting Corruption will be handed over to the Conference of States Parties for consideration.
