Chairman of IBA Honored with Queen Victoria Medal
OREANDA-NEWS. November 05, 2009. The Oxford Summit of Leaders, held under the auspices of the European Business Assembly, took place in Oxford (Great Britain), reported the press-centre of IBA.
According to information given to APA by the press-service of UK?Embassy in Azerbaijan, the event was attended by chief-executives of more than100 leading companies from Eastern and Central Europe, Baltic States, Central Asia, and South Caucasus. Holding of this even was co-sponsored by "Syngentia" company, the "Thames Valley" Chamber of Commerce, and Reading University.
Within the framework of this even, the chief-executives of some other companies have also been awarded with the honorary titles and prizes. Jahangir Hajiyev, Chairman of the International Bank of Azerbaijan, has also been awarded with the International Prize - Queen Victoria Commemorative Medal. This award is usually presented to business people for their outstanding success in business and remarkable achievements in protection of business values.
The award has been conferred on the Chairman of the International Bank of Azerbaijan for successful implementation of economically and socially oriented programs, worthy representation of country on the international scene, and charity initiatives. In his speech at the prize presentation ceremony, Fakhraddin Gurbanov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the UK, who participated in the summit, told about the economic development of our country and measures taken with the aim of ensuring its long-term economic development, and also noted that this award was the clear evidence of these successes.
