OREANDA-NEWS. November 03, 2009. At welding workshop modernization of cutting complex at ZTR has been completed – the fourth plasma arc cutting plant was put into operation.  This project is included into integrated investment program of production development and increase of its throughput. Investment of project realization made up USD 2.1 mln.

Cutting complex consists of existing flame cutting equipment “Crystal” and four new machines for thermal cutting type "SUPRAREX SXE-P 5500" manufactured by ESAB.

Within the first six months of the year 2009 the third thermal cutting machine has been introduced. The forth one having plasmatron capacity 400 A, manufactured by ESAB, has been commissioned. Owing to this fact, such parts as fins, frames and other sheet metal parts of 40 mm thickness will be possible to cut using these plasma arc cutting machines. 

Availability of a set of four machines of ЕSАВ manufacturer will permits for ZTR to complete in full scope production of parts for transformer metal structures using thermal cutting method.

Up to 150 t of sheet metal (100 – 150 sheets) are processed by these machines per 24 hour period. And the equipment capacity is not limited by this volume. For today the capacities as for metal cutting ensure production of transformers up to output 80mln. kVA.
