OREANDA-NEWS. November 03, 2009. Over the nine months of 2009, Ilim-Garant Charity Fund (Ilim Group's partner in social and charity projects) allocated RUR 34.5 million to implement various projects in the Bratsk and Ust-Ilimsk Districts of the Irkutsk Oblast. Under the agreements on implementation of social and other non-commercial programs signed between Ilim Group and the Irkutsk Oblast Administration, Ilim-Garant continues the funding of not only regional, but also federal-level institutions: orphanages, retirement homes for the elderly, etc.

Within the nine months of 2009, RUR 19.5 million was spent on charity projects in Bratsk and the Bratsk District. A large part of this amount was spent to aid retired employees and veterans of the Bratsk Timber Processing Complex (currently, the Bratsk Branch of Ilim Group).

RUR 3 million was expended to assist children's sports programs, including support of Sibiryak junior soccer team. Over RUR 3 million was earmarked as part of cooperation with City Hospital No.5. The money was used to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment.

In accordance with the agreement concluded with the Oblast Administration, RUR 4 million was allocated to repair the building of the orphanage for children with developmental difficulties.

Ilim-Garant's assistance to Ust-Ilimsk and the Ust-Ilimsk District in the first nine months of 2009 roughly amounted to RUR 15 million.

In particular, the Fund continues its cooperation with the Ust-Ilimsk Central District Hospital: more than RUR 5 million was spent to purchase new equipment and repair both the Hospital and its local divisions.

RUR 3.5 million went to assist preschools: purchase furniture, toys, educational materials, and renovate kindergartens.

Support of the children's sports teams in Ust-Ilimsk attracted RUR 1.5 million from Ilim-Garant.
