OREANDA-NEWS. November 03, 2009. OAO TATNEFT is developing a new, third program of energy saving. It will be a continuation of the current program designed for the period of 2006-2010. The new document will include further measures to improve the economics of the Company in the medium term in order to increase energy efficiency, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

A full energy survey of all power projects of the Company, as well as its divisions and subsidiaries is carried out for the purpose. This work is nearing completion. At present the process of systematization of materials and analysis of results is in progress. The Results received will serve as a basis on which activities will be performed and investments will be provided for their implementation. In November, the matter will be considered at the annual meeting of OAO TATNEFT: a so called energy summit of the Company.

TATNEFT has been implementing the energy conservation program since 2000. The Company completed the first phase of the mentioned program in 2005 having saved 700.2 thousand tons of reference fuel over the period of 6 years.

Completion of the second energy conservation program should result in the completion of activities that will provide for a significant long-term energy saving effect. One of the priorities among these activities is improving the organization of the technological process of oil production aiming at achievement of 15% saving of fuel and energy resources by 2010 versus the plan of 2005 and reduction the energy component in the cost of oil production.
