OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2009. Aeroflot Russian Airlines JSC expands geography for passenger check-in for its own flights over the Internet. Passengers can now check in for all Aeroflot flights from Anapa, Samara, Mineralniye Vody, Omsk, and Nizhnevartovsk not only at the airport but also at home or office – using the Internet. Additionally, beginning today, the company introduces two new check-in languages – German and French, for the convenience of foreign passengers. Now, the Internet check-in is available for Aeroflot passengers from 12 locations both in Russian and abroad, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

Internet check-in has become available to Aeroflot passengers flying from Yerevan, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo and Dubai. Earlier, this service had been offered to Aeroflot passengers departing from Sheremetyevo. As of October 20, over 26,000 passengers have used this service. Currently, the company plans implementation of its own check-in system at its flight destination airports. The online check-in system implementation at an airport is possible provided the facility has Sabre ACSI check-in system, and a well-developed infrastructure.

Online check-in begins 24 hrs and ends 1 hrs 30 min before departure. This is especially convenient for those who travel with carry-on baggage only, as it allows them to skip the physical check-in procedure and go directly to the boarding gate. Passengers travelling with baggage have to check it in as usual.

To be able to use the online check-in service, passengers with tickets should open section Online Check-in at Aeroflot’s home page - www.aeroflot.ru. After submitting their personal data (full name, departure point, flight number, Aeroflot Bonus Card number, passport data), passengers can choose a seat to suit their needs, and then print out a boarding pass. At the airport, passengers with such a printout can go straight to their boarding gate.

The Internet check-in introduction by Aeroflot, marks the company’s next step to further improvement of its product through cutting–edge technology.

As was announced earlier, since October 20 Aeroflot passengers buying air tickets have been able to obtain railway tickets on high-speed Aeroexpress trains going from Belorussky Railway Station to Sheremtyevo International Terminal. The new service means that one can book and pay for Aeroexpress tickets together with air tickets at Aeroflot sales offices at a special price.
