OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2009. Yuri Luzhkov visited stations under construction on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro line—Volokolamskaya and Mitino. Together with D.V. Gayev and G.Ya. Shtern, the CEOs of Moscow Metro and Mosmetrostroy, respectively, the Mayor travelled on an engine over the new route from Mitino to Volokolamskaya, where a press briefing took place, and stopped at the station Myakinino.

Yuri Luzhkov said that the stations were all but ready and confirmed that two of them, Mitino and Volokolamskaya, will be opened to passengers by the New Year holidays this December, but with non-stop service through Myakinino, which will be ready a month later.

All stations are being under completion of finishing work, installation of utility systems and other equipment, with track-laying between stations almost completed.
