OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2009. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has come forward with new warning threats that the defaulted consumers will be disconnected gas if they fail to cover debts on gas bills until midday of 1 November.

The first term of ultimatum expired at 12 am on 30 September and then the Baku City Gas Operations Department of Company’s production association Azeriqaz disconnected gas supply in 11 districts of the capital for 3,156 gas consumers. 857 consumers were disconnected from gas supply in Binagadi, 610 in Surakhani, 482 in Azizbeyov, 296 in Garadagh, 166 in Nasimi, 160 in Sabunchi, 158 in Yasamal, 124 in Sabayil, 122 in Khatayi, 117 in Nizami and 64 in Narimanov districts.

For Jan-Sept 2009 the consumers paid only 67.2% of the supplied gas.
