OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2009. Specialists of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” accomplished the handling operation of 2 “Sokol” gantry cranes. The cranes were moved from berths Nr. 23 and Nr. 39 of the First Stevedoring Company to the berths Nr. 3-4 of the Universal Handling Facility in Ust-Luga.

Cranes with the lifting capacity of 32 tons suitable for handling of loose, bulk and general cargoes will help to increase efficiency of unloading operations at the terminal.

For 9 months of 2009 Universal Handling Facility handled 0.9 mln tons of cargoes, the projected performance for 12 months of 2009 – about 1.3 mln tons.
