IBM and TATNEFT Built Universal Corporate Platform
OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2009. IBM and OAO TATANEFT have built a corporate universal platform for integrating all information systems of the oil and gas complex of the Company, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.
The corporate integrating platform has been built based on the latest IBM WebSphere service-oriented architecture technology that significantly increases the efficiency of collecting and processing of technological information.
Successful implementation of the project has been ensured by an innovative approach of the management and the employees of TATNEFT to solving business challenges the Company faces, as well as by the industrial expertise of the employees of OAO TATNEFT's IT service and technological expertise of the IBM experts.
The project opens up more opportunities for operational management of the TATNEFT Group companies on the basis of relevant information collected in the real time mode at all stages of the Company's activity starting with oil and gas production to transportation and marketing of oil and gas products.
For the purpose of further IT infrastructure development the Company plans to establish a situational center based on the IBM portal technologies. A convenient business console maximally simplifies receiving any relevant information about the current state of the technological process, as well as relevant indicators and analytical data on all segments of the activity by the Company's experts in charge. The purpose of deploying an up-to-date system is to improve the quality of incoming information ensuring its completeness and transparency for the effective operational management of the Company.
This solution is universal for both large and small enterprises of the oil and gas sector. Taking into consideration that the problem of effective information flow management in the technological processes and production is really important in the industry today the IT-service of OAO TATNEFT is ready to promote replication of this solution in other oil and gas companies in Russia.
