Gomselmash to Dispatch First Lot for Joint Venture in Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2009. In late October Gomselmash plans to dispatch its first consignment of harvester sets to Ukraine for joint assembling. The vehicles will be assembled at the Kherson Engineering Plant jointly with the Belarusian specialists.
In his words, the first batch is meant for assembling ten combine harvesters. In line with the agreements, Belarusian component parts would not exceed 50% of the final cost of a vehicle. Ukraine is going to install its adapters (reapers), wheels and a part of details.
The joint venture plans to start off with the production of Palesse GS812 and Palesse GS12 combine harvesters. Ukraine has not produced equipment of such quality and specifications before.
Gomselmash is largely experienced in setting assembly plants abroad. Such companies have already been opened in Russia and Kazakhstan. Very soon Belarusian harvesters will be assembled in China.
The manufacturing corporation Gomselmash is a multi-business producer of machines designed to cultivate and harvest crops using contemporary agrarian technologies. The Gomselmash line-up includes machines for harvesting grain, forage crops, sugar beet, potato, as well as mowers and machines for complex soil cultivation.
The corporation was set up in 1978 at premises of the Gomselmash enterprise that was founded in 1930. At present the company employs 17,000 people.
