OREANDA-NEWS. October 22, 2009. The main equipment made by “Siemens” has been delivered to the power plant for construction of the combined cycle plant.

IES-Holding is implementing an investment program “Diadem” unique on its scope for the power industry of Russia. Each project of the new generating capacities construction program in the regions of IES-Holding operation has a name of a gem stone.

Perm CHPP-6 reconstruction project “Malachite” is one of the top priority investment projects of “Diadem” program and is crucial for Perm Territory energy system development. A new building will be constructed on the area of the operating power plant. A new combined-cycle plant fitted with Siemens advanced equipment will be installed therein.

Combined cycle plant includes two SGT-800 gas turbines of the up-to-date modification and one SST-300 steam turbine. CCP’s capacity including two SGT-800 turbines and steam turbine SST-600 makes 120MW, overall efficiency is 87%.

The main components of CCP – turbines, generators and other pieces of equipment – were delivered to Perm by waterway. Power cargo mass made from 70 to 111,5 tons. Large and heavy equipment was transferred from the cargo port through the center of the city to CHPP-6 on a special transport during nights followed by road police cars and special cars to lift up electric power lines. The length of the largest 14-axes trailer was 34 meters.

Energy equipment was delivered to Perm under the contract between IES-Holding and Siemens Corporation signed in the end of 2007. According to the contract Siemens representatives will execute the associated works including testing and start-up works, checking up of construction works quality, training for CHPP-6 personnel. When “Malachite” project is completed the electric capacity of the power plant will increase threefold up to 180MW, heat capacity will grow by 240Gcal/h up to 833Gcal/h. At the same time high efficiency of the new unit will allow reducing the annual greenhouse gases emissions by 600 thousand tons.

Within the bounds of IES-Holding “Diadem” program it is planned to complete 16 energy constructions with capacity from 10 to 440MW in 10 regions of the country. Besides “Malachite” project, in Perm Region IES-Holding is finishing “Granat” (Garnet) project (Perm CHPP-13 reconstruction) and is performing preliminary works on “Amethyst” project (Perm CHPP-9 capacities development).
