Uralkali, IBS Borlas Celebrated 3 Years of Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. October 22, 2009. “Uralkali” and the IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre have celebrated three years of successful cooperation, reported the press-centre of IBS.
“Uralkali” OJSC, located in the town of Berezniki, Perm territory, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of mineral fertilisers. The IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre provides “Uralkali” with support services designed to ensure continuous operation of the corporate information management system. The system based on the Oracle E-Business Suite (OEBS) business applications has been used by the company since 2003 to manage its principal and ancillary production facilities, as well as sales, procurement, repairs, personnel, warehouses, and capital construction.
Larisa Melnikova, the Director of the IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre, has advised as follows: “Today we celebrate three years of successful cooperation between “Uralkali” and the IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre which started in 2006. Over this period the IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre specialists have provided the enterprise with standard technical support services and implemented a number of special projects”.
The standard technical support package includes, first of all, a number of services designed to identify sources of and solutions for technical problems affecting the operation of Oracle software products. According to Larisa Melnikova, the most significant special projects implemented for “Uralkali” over the past three years include the following:
Migration of the corporate information system from OEBS 11.5.9 to OEBS 11.5.10.2 (2007). The system was updated on a very tight schedule which helped ensure continuous provision of IT-support services to the enterprise.
Optimisation of the payroll preparation process (2008). The IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre was requested to optimise the payroll adjustment process. As a result of the optimisation the time required for this process to complete was reduced significantly.
Automatic deletion of historical data for business processes implemented within the corporate information system (2009). The IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre has completed a preliminary data analysis, determined data assessment criteria, and designed a historical data deletion procedure.
Sergey Durnovtsev, the Director of information technologies of “Uralkali” OJSC, noted: “Our successful cooperation with the IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre over the past three years was made possible thanks to the outstanding professionalism of the Centre’s employees. We view their skills, experience, and responsible attitude towards their business as a token of continued productive cooperation between our companies”.
