OREANDA-NEWS. October 22, 2009. This was reported by the Government of Moldova, specifying that, according to the Customs Service of Moldova, the exports of Moldovan HES for the period amounted to 9,4% of the total exports from the Transnistrian region.

Electricity was exported to Romania. SC "Moldovan HES" is one of the largest thermal power plants in the Eastern Europe. It has 12 power units with the total installed capacity of 2520 MW. Moldovan HES had joined the group "Inter RAO ES” in mid-2005.

The Russian company has committed to invest US160 million in modernization of the plant. Total investment of Inter RAO ES in reconstruction, rehabilitation, modernization and development of the production facilities and equipment made US 105 million.
