KAMAZ Foundry Got Hundredth Tonne of Flux Cored Wire
OREANDA-NEWS. October 21, 2009. There is something to be proud of. Not long ago it was considered that such a complex modifier can be made only by monopolists with broad experience and a scientific basis in this sphere. The modifier produced at the KAMAZ foundry has the same high quality as the wire by the best developer and producer – Kusaka (Japan).
Adoption of ladle modification of cast iron with flux cored wire can be named the largest modern production project at the foundry. Within three years four moulding lines adopted the unique technique developed by PROGELTA (Italy). The stable quality of metal is one of the main advantages of the technology.
The KAMAZ metallurgists wanted to save on purchases of expensive import flux cored wire, so they opened their own production of this modifier.
According to Project Manager Semyon Shnayderman, the ladle modification process is based on the invariably high quality of modifying flux cored wire. Much of this technological material is needed. To add to this, wires of various composition and purposes are needed for a wide range of casts. That’s why the workers of the KAMAZ foundry established a laboratory for development and production of flux cored wire. Since April 2009 the iron casting production has been working on the domestic modifier – flux cored wire. During this time over 5 billion roubles were saved on costs for its purchase.
To date seven installations for ladle modification with flux cored wire are mounted in the iron casting production. The next automatic moulding line will adopt the new technology in November 2009, according to the plan. It will be the first DISAMATIC line.
