ORLEN Lietuva to Commence Unscheduled Equipment Maintenance
OREANDA-NEWS. October 21, 2009. The management of Public Company ORLEN Lietuva made a decision to commence unscheduled equipment maintenance and inspection activities, which will take for a few months. The decision was made taking into account the current situation on the markets – low refining margins, which resulted in reduction in the Refinery run rates and economic feasibility of the operations, reported the press-centre of ORLEN Lietuva.
The unscheduled activities of the installations maintenance and inspections will take for six to seven days. The Refinery will operate at 70 per cent of its capacity during this period. This way, the efficient and uninterrupted operation of the Mazeikiai Refinery will be ensured until the market situation improves. The Company will use this moment by better organizing the maintenance of the units scheduled for the nearest months.
ORLEN Lietuva has a sufficient inventory of petroleum products to fully satisfy the demand of the Company’s customers; therefore, the maintenance activities will not make any impact on the petroleum product market situation.
The reduction of the Refinery run rates related to the maintenance activities will not affect the Company’s financial results because the Company advanced the scheduled maintenance activities in time.
