OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2009. In 2009, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Astrakhan region of Russia increased 2,4 times year-on-year. This was reported by the press-service department and information policy of the administration the Governor of Astrakhan region.

It is noted that a range of commodity product supplied from Astrakhan region to Turkmenistan expanded greatly. The list of exported goods includes complex steel structures, machinery, power cables, glass, and food.

The Turkmen community residing in the territory of Astrakhan region is the third largest in Russia and this fact defines a particular interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan and sustained action to promote such cooperation, the press service said.
