St. Petersburg to Start New Bridge across Neva in 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2009. St. Petersburg authorities have announced plans for next year to start building the Novo-Admiralteisky (New Admiralty) Bridge across the Neva River to connect the Vasilyevsky Island with the city’s main part.
The cost of construction is a reported USD 263m.
It is going to be a 277-meter-long and 32-meter-wide bridge, officials said.
The new bridge will enable the city to close the famous Dvortsovy (Palace) Bridge for an overhaul, the officials explained, adding that it would require getting UNESCO approval prior to building a new project in St. Pete’s historical center.
