OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2009. Chairman of the Board and CEO of Russian Agricultural Bank Yuri V. Trushin participated in the session of the 39th General Assembly of the International Confederation of Agricultural Credit (CICA) held in Lisbon, Portugal, reported the press-centre of RusAg.

Main topics on the agenda were cooperative banking system of Portugal, impact of global financial crunch on European agriculture, cooperation with Latin America and Portuguese-speaking African countries.

The meeting was headed by the President of CICA, President of Credit Agricole S.A. Rene Carron. Prime Minister of Portugal Eng Jose Socrates, Vice President of European Investment Bank Dr. Carlos Costa and Governor of the Bank of Portugal Dr. Vito Constancio participated in the plenary session.

CICA is an influential world-wide association of financial institutions specialized in agricultural and rural lending. Russian credit Institutions are represented in CICA by Russian Agricultural Bank that, with 80% of its loans going to the agricultural commodity producers, is the leading credit institution as far as agricultural lending in Russia is concerned.
