October 13, 2009. 100600 subscribers use fixed telephony services of Kazakhtelecom JSC in Kyzylorda Oblast as of beginning of September 2009, including over 42 thousand in rural areas. 6232 subscribers have been provided with phones by means of radio access СDMA-450 in villages of the Oblast. On 2 October 2009 representatives of NDP NUR OTAN have familiarized with wireless CDMA-450 technology in village Kozhabakhy, Kazalinsky region, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

Kyzylorda Oblast is 100% digitized. Installed capacity of telecommunication network composes 110298 numbers, including installed capacity of CDMA base station (CDMA -800 and CDMA-450) and composes almost 14000 numbers. By means of satellite systems Sky Edge and used in most remote settlements 248 subscribers have been provided with phones.

Breaking project of Kazakhtelecom JSC "Upgrading and development of rural telecommunication networks using CDMA -450 technology" today covers 79 rural settlements of Kyzylorda oblast. In 2008 within the project 10 CDMA-450 base stations have been installed in Aral, Kazalinsk, Shieliysky, Zhanakorgan regions and in suburb of 6670 numbers of total capacity. Used capacity today composes 6832 numbers.

4 CDMA-450 base stations besides 12 digital MTC function in Kazalinsk region, to which about 2,5 thousand subscribers are hooked up, including 80 subscribers in Kozhabakhy village.

Project "Upgrading and development of rural telecommunication network using CDMA-450 technology" is realized pursuant to the instructions of the Head of state on installation of phones in rural areas and within the State program "30 corporate leaders”. In whole by the republic from beginning of the project realization 227 base stations have been installed, to which 122 335 subscribers have been hooked up, thereby rural population 1200 is provided with reliable installation of phones.

CDMA Standard (Code Division Multiple Access) is digital, uses frequency band in the range of 450 MHz, has multi station access technology with code channels division. Coverage zone of CDMA- 450 base station in rural area composes 25-35 km. One such station can service up to 1000 subscribers.

Breaking character of the project is conditioned by easiness of WLL CDMA- 450 technology and is the most optimal for village as from costs and terms for project realization as from positions of perspectives of using this technology.

Lack of power supply and rotational power cutoffs in some rural areas of the oblast is one of the actual problems concerning regular telephony. In remote settlements where are no traditional power sources, by efforts of Kazakhtelecom JSC wind-driven complexes, producing power supply using wind and sun energy have been installed. Today such wind generators are installed in:

villages Azhar, Madeniet, Kozhagazan of Kazalinsk region, capacity 2,5 kilowatt;
village Bessaryk of Zhanakorgan region, capacity 4 kilowatt;
village Shopankazgan of Karmakchinsk region, capacity 4,5 kilowatt;
village Kekreli of Karmakchinsk region, capacity 2,5 kilowatt.

Implementation of wind power complexes allows satisfying rural residents’ needs, social objects in telecommunication services and quality increase. In the whole, the project is socially motivated.

Kazakhtelecom gives special consideration to socially significant projects. This year on the initiative of akim for Kyzylorda oblast an exclusive children training program of Oblast Public Fund “Chernobyl and children of Aral” is implemented. Today Telecommunication Direction for Kyzylorda Oblast works on technical possibility for installation of phones and Internet connection of children who will be engaged in this program.

In the whole level of installing phones and connecting Internet in schools composes 99,7% and 99,0 % by the oblast. 100% installation of phones in schools will be reached to the end of this year.
