OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2009. Representatives of Chinese company “China Road and Bridge Corporation“ accompanied by representatives of “Vilnius Consult” Ltd. visited Klaipeda port. The aim of the visit was to discuss the issues regarding the port infrastructure projects to be implemented in Klaipeda port, reported the press-centre of Klaipeda Port.
 
The visit of representatives of Chinese company “China Road and Bridge Corporation“ in Klaipeda port was related to the visit of Chinese businessmen delegation led by Vice Prime minister of China in Lithuania 31 August this year. The abovementioned Chinese businessmen delegation also included a representative of “China Road and Bridge Corporation”.

In the course of the visit in Lithuania, a Memorandum of Understanding was undersigned between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania and “China Road and Bridge Corporation“whereby both parties made provisions for further cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure.

Following the cooperation principles set in this memorandum and referring to the fact that on 19-20 October this year a forum of Transport ministers and business representatives of the EU and Asian countries ASEM will be held in Vilnius, the representatives of Chinese company “China Road and Bridge Corporation“ visited Klaipeda Seaport. During the visit they were accompanied by representatives of “Vilnius Consult“ Ltd.
 
The guests were welcomed in the Seaport Authority by Director General of the Seaport Authority Eugenijus Gentvilas who introduced them to Klaipeda Seaport activities, economic indicators of the port performance, development prospects and discussed issues that the guests were especially interested in, i.e.  -  port infrastructure projects to be implemented in Klaipeda port, including construction of Klaipeda passenger and cargo terminal ad the outer port.
 
After the visit in the Seaport Authority the guests visited territory of the future Klaipeda passenger and cargo terminal.
