OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2009. The National Bank’s monetary reserves for nine months of 2009 reduced by \\$381.91 million (22.8 percent), totaling US1 billion 209.5 million as of September 30. According to the National Bank’s data, as of the beginning of the year, the National Bank’s monetary reserves totaled US 1 billion 672.41 million, as of the end of the first half of 2009 – about US 1 billion 210.07 million.

As of the beginning of 2008, the National Bank’s monetary reserves totaled US 1 billion 333.68 million, by the end of the year – they increased by US 338.72 million (25,4 percent).

The International Monetary Fund forecasted earlier that Moldova’s monetary reserves will reduce by US 396 million (23.7 percent) in 2009 and will total US 1 billion 276 million by the end of the year, and US 1 billion 293 million – by the end of 2010.
