OREANDA-NEWS On 08 October was announced, that a massive planting campaign started in the national tourism zone Avaza. More than 145 thousand trees will be planted in the territory of the young sea resort by the end of the year.

About 70 organizations, establishments and enterprises of various ministries and departments of Turkmenistan will participate in this action. They are expected to plant trees at their own expense in 360 hectares of land which is 12-kilometer long and 300 meters wide, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports quoting the administration of Balkan province. Coniferous and deciduous trees will be planted in 5-line consecutive rows. The first five lines will consist of conifer trees that will decorate roads of Avaza.

These green works will be the first step in creating a clean buffer zone around an international center of tourism and recreation. During the second phase, which will begin next year, over 360 hectares of new areas will be landscaped. At the final stage, the width of the "green belt" of Avaza will reach 800 meters.
