OREANDA-NEWS On 08 October was announced, that within a period from 17th to 28th of September 2009, the 49th championship of the CIS enterprises of the aircraft industry on aircraft modeling took place at airfield of Central Glider Aeroclub of Russia in Orel town. Within this championship, it was held the World Cup event as for flying models (classes of FIA, FIB, FIB).

ANTONOV ASTC’s team won the first place among 11 teams.

In personal competition, the following ANTONOV’s model aircraft constructors won 3 first and 4 prizes among about 200 sportsmen:

A. Lystopad – the first prize in the class of aerobatic models;

V. Makarov – the first prize in the class of radio-controlled models of gliders;

F. Ovchinnikov – the first prize in the class of radio-controlled models-copies;

O. Onufrienko and V. Makarenko – the second prize in the class of racing models;

T. Belanov – the second prize in the class of radio-controlled models of glider;

S. Nikulnikov – the second prize in the class of radio-controlled models of helicopters;

I. Zavgorodniy – the third prize in the class of free flying models of gliders.

The winners demonstrated high results and showed high level of modern aircraft modeling technique, sport training and coordinated work between the team members.

The aircraft models represented at the championship were made of modern composite materials and metals. They are equipped with advanced electronic control and search systems. They performed flights under high G-factors, at limit strength and staying power. It became possible owing to maximum load ratio of the models structure.

There was a remarkable interchange of the information on new technologies of models and engines production during the championship.
