V Yushchenko Takes Part in Meeting of Horizon Capital Investors
OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2009. Ukraine's President Viсtor Yushchenko took part in a regional meeting of Horizon Capital investors.
In his speech, the President informed the investors on modern economic realities and potential of Ukraine, outlined his vision of the country coming out of the recession and improving of its competitiveness, etc.
"One of the most modern economies that may arise in Europe in the nearest 5 years is the Ukrainian economy", he said, pointing also to importance of the role investors can play in that.
He noted that despite the difficult economic times our state remains a reliable trading partner and an attractive investment market. Victor Yushchenko noted that in last 4-5 years “Ukraine has developed high macroeconomic culture and we can talk about stable continuous investment.”
Among the most important issues in the context of overcoming the recession Victor Yushchenko named weakness of fiscal policy, unbalanced state budget 2009 and a deficit budgets of Naftogaz Ukraine and the Pension Fund. "The country needs a balanced budget, and it is possible only in one case: through the reform of entire sectors", said Victor Yushchenko, adding that particularly needed are the reforms in pensions care, energy sector, utilities and transport.
