OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2009. The Government of the Irkutsk Region and SOGAZ Insurance Group entered into a cooperation agreement. The relevant document was signed by Governor Dmitry Mezentsev and Vadim Yanov, Chairman of the SOGAZ Management Board, reported the press-centre of SOGAZ.

The Agreement is aimed at creating favorable conditions for the comprehensive social and economic development and enhancement of investment appeal of the Irkutsk Region, as well as the improvement of the existing system of providing medical care to the Region’s population through the implementation of various insurance programs. Special attention is to be paid to the use of SOGAZ’s experience and resources, while implementing both federal targeted investment programs (FTIP) and local programs in the territory of the Region.

Besides, SOGAZ undertakes to construct 1 or 2 healthcare centers in the Irkutsk Region using the funds attracted by the company; an agreement was also reached regarding the assistance in development of telemedicine in Priangarie (Angara river region) and purchase of an electronic medical library. The Regional Government expressed its interest in the programs offered by the Insurance Group aimed at treating and rehabilitating children abroad, including those living in specialized boarding schools and orphanages.

– I think, by the end of this year not less than 100 children will have received treatment and, of course, will get an opportunity to see the world. Together with the Regional Healthcare Department, we will propose that the company organizes treatment of children suffering from chronic diseases to prepare them, in terms of their health, for the adult life, – said Dmitry Mezentsev.

The Governor also said that as early as by the end of this year one of the regional children’s hospitals will receive as a gift from SOGAZ a modern ultrasound diagnostic machine that costs 5 million roubles.

The Chairman of the SOGAZ Management Board emphasized that the company and the Government of the Irkutsk Region will cooperate in other fields as well. “In our opinion, the development and implementation of mechanisms for individual property insurance in emergency situations and provision of coverage for large-scale investment projects to be implemented in the Irkutsk Region will be similarly efficient,” – said Vadim Yanov.

The agreement between the Government of the Irkutsk Region and SOGAZ Insurance Group will be valid for one with the possibility of subsequent renewal. As it was proposed by Dmitry Mezentsev, the next issue to be discussed is the insurance of forestlands in the Irkutsk Region against fire.
