OREANDA-NEWS. 18th Session of General Assembly of World Tourists organization will take place in Astana from October 2 to 9, 2009. Kazakhtelecom JSC, the leading telecoms operator of Kazakhstan will technically support this event, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

Kazakhstan has been elected as a member of Executive Council of the World Tourists Organization (WTO) in Cartagena (Columbia) in 2007.

The World Tourists Organization (WTO) is specialized institution of U.N.O, is the leading world organization in the sphere of tourism and travels. It serves as global forum in the sphere of tourists’ policy and practical source of tourists’ know-how.

Having headquarters in Madrid (Spain) WTO plays central and key role in propaganda and development of responsible, stable and public tourism, called to promote economical development, international mutual understanding, peace, prosperity, and mutual respect, unconditional observance of civil laws and main freedom.

Representatives of 153 countries and joined members representing private enterprises, educational institutions, tourists’ associations and tourists’ world administrations will participate in 18th session of General Assembly of WTO.
