Russian Oil Companies Must Explain Reasons for Prices Policy
OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2009. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) sent letters to oil companies that they must give explanations regarding the facts of maintaining and not reducing wholesale prices for oil products in August-September 2009 as well as measures undertaken by the companies to adjust the prices in accord with the market level, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
In July-September FAS Russia received more than 430 petitions from citizens of the Russian Federation addressed to the Russian leaders as well as petitions from members of the State Duma and governors complaining about unreasonably high petrol prices.
According to FAS Russia, the wholesale market for oil products in Russia has all conditions for price reduction.
