OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2009. The promotional campaign 'Pirmyn, Ereliai!' (Go Ahead, Eagles!) at ORLEN Lietuva filling stations is over.  During the two months of the promo-campaign, people involved in the promo-game, which was meant to support the national men's basketball team, filled out 31,000 game-cards and filled up over 1 million liters of premium fuel VERVA, reported the press-centre of ORLEN Lietuva.

‘I am pleased that so many drivers reacted to our invitation to support the basketball players in Poland and to win great prizes. Public Company ORLEN Lietuva is the main sponsor of the national basketball team; therefore, being faithful fans, we stood for the team despite the series of losses. We believe that our support to the basketball players will definitely lead to dramatic victories in the future', said Saulius Zilenas, Commercial Director of AB Ventus-Nafta operating ORLEN Lietuva filling stations.

According to S. Zilenas, the game showed that the most passionate basketball fans live in Kaunas; over 10,000 cards of the promo-campaign were filled out at the filling stations located in this town – the capital of basketball.

The promo-campaign ‘Pirmyn, Ereliai!’ started on the 24th of July and lasted for two months at all the filling stations of ORLEN Lietuva. Each person having arrived at a filling station and filled up at least 20 liters of gasoline or diesel fuel VERVA could win instant-win prizes, two season-tickets to LKL/BBL matches or the main prize – a plane trip for two to Poland together with the Lithuanian national basketball team as well as tickets to the first six matches of the European Men’s Basketball Championship. The prize went to Norbertas Mazrimas from Kaunas who had filled out two cards of the promo-game; one of the cards was lucky.The citizen of Kaunas, who went to the Championship with his wife, had the chance to watch not only the matches, but also the workouts of the national team.

The total of almost 7,000 prizes – basketball-fan-characteristic items: bracelets, T-shirts, caps and balls were awarded during the promo-game. During the promo-campaign, cards with different pictures of the national team's basketball players were distributed among visitors of the filling stations who could collect the cards.
