OREANDA-NEWS. October 5, 2009. Russian Rosrybolovstvo, which is responsible care about fishing in the country, is goint to equip the ships with GLONASS, Andrey Krainy, Rosrybolovstvo Head told Vremya Novostey. This is implemented in accordance with the agreement signed between the Russian Federal Space Agency and Rosrybolovstvo.

GLONASS equipment will help positioning the ships, as well as their loading.  GLONASS will provide the ships with navigation, space data, and other types of sea surface remote sensing information.  The project is coordinated by NII KP.
