OREANDA-NEWS. October 5, 2009. Dmitry Medvedev Had Working Meeting with Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina. The development of special economic zones was the subject of discussion.

Ms Nabiullina said that to date so far two industrial manufacturing zones, four technology incubation zones and seven tourism and recreation zones have been established, and a tender has been held for three port zones.

The President instructed Ms Nabiullina to step up efforts in this area, in particular giving the regions greater involvement in establishing special economic zones.
