OREANDA-NEWS On 05 October was announced, that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Factory, a SOLLERS Group company, started a new project for producing all-wheel drive specialized vehicles on chassis available from the Italian company Bremach. According to the arrangements which have been reached, special Bremach-chassis vehicles will be assembled at the site of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Factory, and sold on the Russian market under the UAZ brand.

The new all-terrain UAZ T-REX specialized vehicles have a load-carrying capacity of up to 3.5 tons and will be made to order for end users in the road-building sector, government agencies, and also as emergency specialized vehicles for equipment operation in remote areas. The T-REX specialized vehicles have overall dimensions of 5230 mm x 1900 mm x 2495 mm and a wheelbase of 3450 mm, and have high cross-country capacity as well, thanks to an all-wheel drive system, high road clearance (290 mm) and high frame strength. In addition, one serious advantage of the vehicle is the presence of a multi-stage transfer gearbox with a wide range of traction even at low speeds, as well as a power takeoff for attached auxiliary units. The T-REX will be equipped with a turbo-diesel (F1A) with a displacement volume of 2.3 litres and power of 116 hp.

According to the executive director of the Ulyanovsk automobile factory, Sergey Yurasov, the new Bremach-chassis all-wheel drive special vehicles will be a good addition to the traditional UAZ product lineup, by expanding it with vehicles having greater load-carrying capacity that are adapted for special applications. “UAZ has traditionally been on the market for vehicles with enhanced cross-country capacity, and we saw that in a whole range of market segments there is pent-up demand for up-to-date all-wheel drive specialized vehicles. The Bremach-chassis, in terms of performance specifications, is the optimal platform for creating unique niche products for special applications,” S. Yurasov believes.

The Bremach company, a division of the PRO.DE Italian automobile group, is the manufacturer of specialized all-wheel drive vehicles with high off-road performance.
