OREANDA-NEWS. October 2, 2009. Pupils from Pushkin 406 gymnasium visited Pulkovo Airport. Children took part in the program called “Pulkovo for children”; this program started this spring in the airport.

Acquaintance with aviation started with the visit of the Museum of civil aviation that is situated in the aviacity. In the museum pupils were told about the history of civil air fleet, were shown the cockpit of the turbo-prop IL-14, models of flight recorders and uniform.

Acquaintance with working aircrafts took place on the airdrome. On the second ramp pupils observed takeoffs and landings of the aircrafts, particularly of double-decker Boeing 747 that carried out the flight from St. Petersburg.

The tour continued on the third ramp where the children were shown air-technical base of the Rossiya airline, Pulkovo-2 terminal and aircrafts of international airlines. The tour by tradition came to the end on the N1 ramp near the south satellite.
