OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2009. IBS is performing an automation project for Aer Rianta International Duty Free, the leading duty-free operator in Russia. The new IT system based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV will span 11 stores and support all retail processes, reported the press-centre of IBS.

Aer Rianta International Duty Free is a Russian-Irish company engaged in duty free and duty paid retail. The company will operate duty free stores at Sheremetyevo 3 Terminal, which is due to open this year. It was decided to have a comprehensive retail management system implemented for the new stores.

Based on the results of a bidding process the company selected the IBS bid, which was based on using Microsoft Dynamics 5.0 software and LS Retail NAV, a specialised retail management solution. This combination will result in an IT system that will run and support end-to-end retail business processes from ordering and delivery of goods to retail store sales.

The solution functionality includes:
supply management,
product line management and product classification,
certificate maintenance,
warehouse management and goods logistics,
pricing and loyalty system,
support of duty-free retailing processes,
support of customs procedures, generation of statutory customs reports.

The system will be integrated with the bank card authorisation centre and will provide export of data for the accounting system. The system is planned to support operation of 50 points of sale and have up to 52 users.

The project is currently under way. Work is being done to meet functional requirements and configure the solution. Industrial operation of the system is due to be launched in October.

In addition to the system implementation in this project IBS will supply and install necessary hardware including POS terminals, server hardware, active network hardware, workstations and system software.
